Increase storage density with Double Deep Racking

A variant on standard adjustable beam racking, double deep as the name implies allows pallets to be stored two deep but still accessible from the same aisle. This can be either double deep against a wall, or four pallets deep between aisles. Double deep racking simply has one row of standard pallet racking behind another. Through doubling the amount of pallets on each aisle that wide aisle racking, double deep creates a larger storage density.

Although the speed of access to all pallet positions is restricted, with an efficient stock rotation system this can easily be compensated for to take advantage of the increased storage density.

Double deep racking is ideal when multiple pallet quantities of each product are stored and it’s benefits include:

Perks of Double Deep Racking

– 60% Space Utilization
– Double deep pallet racking can free up to 60% of the floor space given to aisles in a wide aisle scheme. Through – maximizing space utilization you can store more pallets in the limited space of your warehouse.
– Ideal For High Turnover
– Perfect for goods with high turnover, where restricted access is not a problem
– Lower Capital Investment
– Relatively low cost when compared to scissor and pantograph masts.

OVERVIEW:

Maximize storage space

As the number of aisles is reduced, the amount of floor space you can use for storage is greatly increased.

Achieve high levels of productivity

Pallets can be loaded and unloaded reasonably quickly.

Maintain good selectivity

You’ll have immediate access to 50% of your pallets.

Reduce damage

The upper storage levels can be fitted with guide rails to assist drivers in locating pallets and reduce the risk of error and accidental damage.
